The Supreme Ones are the Triumvirate of Arian, Elías and the Unnameable, who close the cosmic cycle of the shared cosmos and, through their acts with the Rod of Infinity, become the Supreme Tribunal of the new order. The name also designates the conflict in which they rose; Arian won it.

The Triumvirate

Each member is eternally bound to a mega-artifact and can summon it across any barrier or distance.

  • Arian, the creative force, proposed a reality of infinite possibilities; bound to the Gem of Creation.
  • Elías, the necromancer of long shadow, joined the others to replace Pablo’s designs; bound to the Scepter of the Gods.
  • The Unnameable, architect of the demiplane of the closing; bound to the Stone of the Apocalypse. His founding act fixes the zero of the new calendar.

The Triumvirate stands outside Time, and only its members know what was changed. The closing was the Big Bang of a new cosmos; there were other Aeons before, but no one, not even chronomantic magic, can reach back past it.

Acts of the Tribunal

Decisions made with the Rod: the Unnameable marks the beginning of time; the three artifacts are bound to their bearers; the Triumvirate is immune to any being except other Tribunal members, and its abilities work under any circumstance; the Multiuniverse becomes a Multiverse, where any possibility is real and the Tribunal stands outside the possibilities.

Proposals not fully agreed: closing the Band of the Dissolution under guardians of unimaginable power; the nonexistence of Dual Magic (not voted, and possibly not true); each member choosing representative agents; respect for the cycles (creation, ultimate destiny, destruction).

The closing

Sacrifice of the great powers

So that the Rod would not be dragged into the closing, the powers of Lucifer, Asmodeus, God and Graz’zt were used together and sacrificed to seal the Band of the Dissolution for good. Erebus fell in the blast as well.

Pablo’s soul

Pablo’s soul was cut and trapped by Arian in an impossible Gem. Pablo wrote the Eisagogika and, from the Anvil of Time, the Blue Book; he gave the Eisagogika to Henri at Notre-Dame and died in the street at the hands of Graz’zt as Paul Claudel.

The Unnameable’s demiplane

The outcome took place in a demiplane created by the Unnameable, “like the Matrix loading program”. Time is frozen; a crystallized throne is an arrested explosion, “the dust of the days”. A celestial bard may herald the new cosmos: “Once upon a time there was a world, I mean two worlds, Terra and Antiterra…”

The Triumvirate’s crime was Dual, so it does not disturb the new order. For the Triumvirate there is no time; the gods of time cannot act. The cycle is creation, apotheosis, destruction/transformation.

The new cosmos

As bearer of the Gem, Arian created infinite worlds with infinite versions. Their pillar is the city of Nexus, the constant present in every reality, “not always the same city, but always there like a lighthouse”. The Tribunal summoned every being interested in a place of importance and assigned a cosmology to each reality. The next stage follows a humble group in a Bronze Age of Greek-style heroes, before Nexus is founded or found.

Initial pantheon

Heroes of the old multiuniverse worshipped as deities, not necessarily gods:

  • Tailoor: love, play, pacts, luck in travel, fertility.
  • Antino: magic, stars, sky; protects night adventurers.
  • Sheridron: silver dragon of the moon and knowledge, opposed to the dragon of night.
  • Juve: a serpent (form disputed), keeper of secrets whispered at night.
  • Garkhan: dragon of death and night; his dragons carry souls to the black tower and the black moon.
  • Shakes: elemental of fire and desire, who sees longings wherever a fire is lit.
  • Auro: the wind that brings war, formerly the Horseman of War of the Apocalypse.

The four black mirrors

Four black mirrors appear: ships about 450 meters tall, “coffins on the grass”. “They may only arrive in 500 years. Or they were arriving before.”

  • 2020 was chosen as the year of articulation, opening the Cycle of Legend.
  • 1987: the group tried to defuse five bombs left by the Lord of Iron inside Mount Huron near Gary, Indiana, reachable on 14 April during the eclipse; Mahakala, Lord of Time, was involved, and his sons were devoured by Omnivor. Earlier, the same protagonists disputed four exarch offices.
  • Corvino of Uchronic Paris is connected to this conflict.

Philosophy of the Rod

“The Rod is the limit of the situation”; the Infinite, applied sharply and sustained, can break that limit forever. Citing Heidegger, the Triumvirate holds that a limit is where something begins, not where it ends. Violence is the band where order and disorder dissolve; “whoever kills the guardian becomes the guardian”. A book on the Anvil of Time quotes the Unnameable: “I prefer a promised land to an owed land.”

Dry crystallization and the tetradic exit

Controlling thought and every instant, the Supreme Ones crystallized their world in a dry way, no longer valid; hence worlds such as the Forgotten Realms were abandoned.

There was an exit, toward what Lucifer did (Paladin in Hell, the crystalline defense), toward the gem-world Vala Cristalis, and toward a tetradic universe outside their sphere. Where the Rod crystallizes in triadic form, the exit universe has four components; the fourth exceeds the Triumvirate’s jurisdiction. The Caldero / La Jabalina saga operates there, inside Vala Cristalis.

Open questions

  • The guardians executed in a past Venice.
  • Who beheaded Kronamon in 1120.
  • Who sustains the Uchronia of Paris: the stars, the Inevitables and others.
  • Whether Rantar Alfa, Nexus, city of 144,000 chosen and birthplace of the gods, was undone; the souls abducted since the Eiffel Tower event; the outskirts of the Nobiskrug.
  • The Infinite Staircase of Nimrolath, whence the Word Breakers watched the Rod assembled; the Neo Rex’s twelve dragons, in fact Annunaki, perhaps creators of this world against the Elohim; the Stone Heads; the Solar Pitri in what serves as America.
  • Who the black mirrors carry, and whether a New Triumvirate will be the Supreme Judges.
