The Zodiacal Platforms are the magical divisions of the world, twelve or thirteen depending on the source (one per sign, plus possibly a central one), each held by two opposed Guardians. The Cakravartin reveals the system to the Deep Ones in Atlantis.

Description

Each platform channels one astrological energy: Aries the temple of the Ouroboros, Taurus the earthly and the frontier, Scorpio transformation, destruction and healing, and so on. Platforms have precise temporal and spatial limits and activate in different epochs, mostly at eclipses. The system has a reset mechanism not yet detailed.

The Guardians

Each platform’s two Guardians are cursed by duality, the two faces of its sign:

  • if they hate without killing, the platform holds;
  • if they destroy each other, it collapses with its inhabitants;
  • if they unite willingly, they create a Sentinel, which sustains it anew and lets Antiterra sail like a ship.

Knowing this, they hate without killing.

History

The Cakravartin gives the revelation in the crystal pyramid of Atlantis; his bronze dragon Bronzo then carries the group, as a chakra, to the first active platforms.

The system was co-opted by Yog-Sothoth, an extradimensional presence that now partly runs it for its own ends. What prevents final closure is “the secret of dual magic”: the dual magic that Paulus stole from the pantheon is the original defense. Whoever knows it defends; whoever does not is prey.

Across the gestas

  • The Game of Shadows of the Libertateurs in 18th-century Prague is, confirmed after many cross-checks, the same system.
  • On the Platform of Aries the Deep Ones fought Mexican mercenaries in the temple of the Ouroboros; it held other gestas in other times.
  • The Scorpio platform, guarded by Jean-Baptiste, appears in the New World, where the co-option is confirmed.
  • Paulus’s Eisagogika / Blue Book is the system’s manual.

Open questions

  • Twelve platforms and twelve children of Maleika (six by the Ethiopian demon, six by Lucifer): chance or design.
  • Some references make the Lighthouse of Alexandria the coordinating mechanism, from the Mediterranean.
