Powers and abilities

  • Turtle form. As a turtle she speaks with Seth, held in the Atlantean underwater prison, to locate him and organize his release.
  • Cloak of a thousand eyes. Her higher form holds a quantum cloak of thousands of eyes (and the “second eyelid”); from this “greater opening” comes the Quivering Palm she strikes GRDT with.
  • She carries a sheathed curved blade.

History

  • The Deep Ones. She runs up a fallen giant’s chest and lands the finishing blow. Ambushed in the forest of Labrador, she resists with Zoro and the NAZImar, a winged mage.
  • The Regulators. She was key in the gesta (campaign-cycle) of La Jabalina, around 1889 A.D.A. She is not in Uchronic Paris, which only mentions her, twelve years later.
  • Ethiopia. Graz’zt (Gras) violated her; she devoured his testicles, and his strength stayed in her stomach. He kept his knowledge but lost his strength. Her revenge included feeding Gras to her daughters by Lucifer.
  • The twelve. She bore GRDT twelve children, matching the twelve zodiac platforms, and daughters with Lucifer. When GRDT tried to sacrifice the twelve, Elaina, agent of Erebus, kidnapped them for the Yalemari and drove Maleika 50 km to the Nile.
  • The Sphinx. She died and was revived before the Sphinx (“as you ran, abandoning your children”), then sent as a prisoner to Lucifer’s refuge world.

Prophecy

The seer of the three stones foretold: “Maleika, murdered by her twelve children.” Her 1914–1919 layer is a conditional future; the present is 1901.

The same soul

Maleika shares the same soul with Erzebeth, Magda of Les Libertateurs and Sisi of the Invisible Cities: one line of the potent that recurs from chronicle to chronicle, which the Old Witch watches over.
