Gorge of Gorgias, also called Nightcrawler’s Canyon, is a rift in the Plane of Shadows that runs beside Balefire, the lantern-city at whose foot it opens.
At its bottom lies the only place where Shar, the Lady of Shadows, can be destroyed. According to the Lion of San Marcos, Maleika would have to face her greatest failure there and convince herself that she deserves to exist. Only then can the goddess of blackness be brought down in her own plane and in no other.
