The Yalemari are “13 lords of the shadow” who intervene when GRDT tries to sacrifice his children to regain power. They are associated with darkness and possibly with Erebus or Shar.

Nature and actions
- They are shadows that pass through walls and go after each child.
- The name is also rendered Yalbaris; Yalemari is the canonical form.
- They are twelve who “succeed as thirteen”. The thirteenth shadow is the largest, the one of whom Gras said “yo no lo acepto” (“I do not accept it”), matching the 12+1 formula (Ophiuchus / the vacant Black Throne).
- They receive the twelve children of Maleika, kidnapped and delivered by Elaina to wreck the Sentinela Plan (Sentinelas) of Graz’zt.
- The shadows are tied to Antiterra’s final cycle.
Open questions
- Is there a connection with the 13 zodiac signs (12 + Ophiuchus), or with another cosmic taxonomy? The number 13 recurs in the cosmologies of the shared cosmos.
