Lukas, “the paladin of Star City”, is a paladin and founding member of La Jabalina (“the Javelin”) in Caldero, and the band’s spokesman before figures of authority and power.

Description
Lukas came to Caldero from Star City, the sister city to the north, among the adventurers the volcanic city draws from across the gem-world. He joined La Jabalina at the first summons of the priestess Jenya Urikas in the Temple of St. Cuthbert. His style is solemn, calm and deliberate: a classic paladin with longsword and raised shield, frontal charges when needed and firm diplomacy when possible. He operates from the Bastard Cromas.
History
- Teo in the mist. He addressed the sleepwalking Teo: “Are you all right, friend? It isn’t safe here.”
- Bazaar of Life. Posing as interested buyers, the group faced Kazmojen with Lukas leading the talk; in the fight his shield blocked Kazmojen’s blows while he struck back.
- Malachite Fortress. Facing the Howler, he stepped forward: “We are not enemies; we seek something we could buy. Perhaps we have business with your master.” The Howler withdrew, though “his indulgence would not be infinite”. Teo backed the lie with a smile; Foggimer stood ready.
- Chamber of the Whispering Masks. He helped lift Teo from the octagonal pit and shielded the group’s formation.
- The exit. When the two subgroups reunited, Lukas appeared first, with “another fellow holy warrior whose name they did not yet know”, possibly the start of his bond with Lucky. With the rescued children at the center of the formation, they rode the chain elevator to the surface, where Gretchyn Tashykk received them in tears at dawn.
