Description

Kazmojen called it “el bazar de carne y vida” (“the bazaar of flesh and life”); after its exposure people called it “the slave bazaar”. In a gallery of iron cages and greenish lamps, creatures of the Underdark and outside slavers trade in whispers.

Its supply: children kidnapped on the surface by agents such as Keygan Ghelve, the gnome locksmith; raids by the Company of Laughter; and travelers captured in secret.

Purpose

The bazaar supplies human material for major rituals of the negative pole. La Jabalina’s hypothesis: the children sold there were candidates for the zodiacal marks of the Cageewrights ritual orchestrated from the high towers by Lord Valanthru and/or Tittiframe. The chain runs from capture in slums and orphanages, through the bazaar, to the ritual.

History

La Jabalina’s first mission, which began with an attack on Rulfo, the orphanage’s guardian, ended here in a fierce fight against Kazmojen, hobgoblins, slavers and the Howler. After Kazmojen’s defeat the group freed the four orphans taken from the Lantern Street orphanage, among them Jaromir, with other captive children, and left by the old mechanical lift (Exit) at dawn.

The bazaar was interrupted, but the wider network (Valanthru, Tittiframe, the Cageewrights) remains active, and other sub-lords could reopen it or set up an equivalent elsewhere.
