Description

The temple stands far from the crater. It has a pale stone nave with paired columns and an atrium with a bell tower heard in the lower quarter when the wind blows from the east. The main altar holds the image of the guardian saint: a shepherd with a crook in one hand and an empty nest in the other.

Behind the nave lies the lesser sacristy. There Jenya operates a divinatory apparatus her public authority does not fully admit: the six-pointed mace, a ritual instrument of six axes, kept on an embroidered cloth in the bottom drawer of the doctrinal cabinet. Its interpretive doctrine: six points, six shadows, one central mark, with the number thirteen as horizon.

History

In a solemn meeting in the nave, Jenya convened Lukas, Foggimer, Sila, Antonio and other allies. She spoke of a prophecy linking her mace divination to recent events: children disappearing on Lantern Street, noble rumors about House Frame Rhivadi and the Obsidian Tower, and night anomalies around the Dark Chapel. The group accepted.

Role

The temple is the group’s spiritual refuge and secondary base. Foggimer channels doctrinal and ritual information from it; Jenya lends ecclesiastical authority when the group’s public work needs it; the wounded recover in the infirmary of the greater sacristy.

It keeps a double register: orthodox Decadian public liturgy, formally dependent on the metropolitan Orthodoxy of the Imperial Church, plus reserved ritual divination. The metropolitan church does not inspect the lesser sacristy. The divination is tied to the prophecy of the Cageewrights.
