Pablo the Chronomancer is a time traveler of Caldero whose arts allowed brief jumps between moments of history. He escaped the rite of Sacred Reconnection in the Dark Chapel by an emergency time jump and is one manifestation of the Pablo line.

History
Pablo appeared in Caldero’s cosmological forging phase, before the known count. He followed his own temporal designs, but his gift drew the diabolic ambassadors probing the temporal energy beneath the dormant volcano under Caldero. They wanted him to manipulate key events, consolidate infernal influence on the mortal plane and open the rift in the volcanic subsoil. He did not fully accept, but was caught in the negotiation. The Calderan church could not contain him, and trans-geographic forces took over.
The Regulators and the Templars of Time, the clandestine arm of temporal justice, performed a purification rite with great torches in the Chapel’s main nave; the ambassadors withdrew, and Pablo was trapped between both sides. He escaped by an emergency time jump. He did not die; he changed fold and emerged in another cosmological geography, where his work went on. The self-immolation of one of the Templars partially sealed the rift.
The echo in the crypts
In 1824 AE his echo lingers in the Chapel’s deepest crypts. Chroniclers who approached without entering record whispers in ancient chants in an unknown language, symbols burned into the stone with a chronomantic mark, echoes of jumps to unknown destinations, and visions of diabolic ambassadors. The night anomalies are largely residual echoes; if Pablo returns to Caldero in the next cycle, the echo would become a full appearance.
The Pablo line
The line gathers nine variants into one figure, including Paulus of Alexandria (the recent consolidation), Pablo, the Primordial Time Traveler and the bearer of the Eisagogika. The identity is one of temporal superposition, not substitution: each manifestation has its own fold, geography and trade, with the same chronomantic step. A treatise attributed to the Decadian chronicler of Narsileon says he has nine voices and a single step.
In the present cycle
He acts tangentially through two members of La Jabalina (“the Javelin”), who do not fully know it:
- Vitalis, the Sorcerer of the Blackwater River, son of Tailoor (= Taylor) and Thalia Cristalia, a chronomantic messenger abandoned in the River Oukronos who reappears in Caldero as a sorcerer of time, capable of brief jumps.
- Tony Malatesta, the band’s mage, carries the Eiffel Tower Clock, a possible relic of the rite that may have been part of Pablo’s negotiation with the devils. It works in silence; Tony watches it.
Relationships
- The Arian Line — a parallel line.
- Ärsvan — a parallel figure in another fold (Notre-Dame).
- The Destruction of Notre-Dame — an echo of the rite in Paris.
