York is a northern region governed by David, Mayor of York, and the seat of political power of the Company of David. It is the central setting of the search and rescue of More, who is controlled by Lubina. It includes Monkchester to the south and has contacts with Rintrah and regional power dynamics.
Disambiguation: this is the medieval English city and region (DR axis), not New York, the American colonial city of the uchronia of Antiterra (A.D.A. axis, 18th–19th centuries), which has its own entry.
Role
York is the political counterpole of Torregrises: weak governance against royal authority, and the contemplative leadership of David against the pragmatism of Sabas.
