Dolores is a warrior who bears Excalibur and the wife of David, Mayor of York. She is an emerging leader after the destruction of Monkchester and a member of The Company of David.
Background
Monkchester was a farming town south of York razed by a Pict-Celtic-Viking invasion. Dolores holds a Christian vision of reconstruction and governance. More, a demon-possessed warrior, is also a bearer of Excalibur.
In Lords of York
In the gesta Lords of York, Dolores is a woman of Christian religious fervor, in contrast to the paganism of Egas. She draws Excalibur before Lubina but holds back, knowing that if the lustful demon did not want More found, he would not be found.
After Monkchester’s destruction she resolves to rebuild the town as a “dwelling of good”. She accepts More’s return to the group with reservations: he was lost, but the Lord gave second chances, and so would she.
