Mabrón is a poet and prophet who gave the Rintrah their name, taken from Blake (“Rintrah roars”). He was murdered at least twice by those he had named.
His ghost is bound to the ring of Wako, general of the Rintrah, and can be summoned to testify to the group’s deeds. He witnessed the transformations of the Lords of York into the Curiales, then the Necessary Evil, then the Rintrah, about which his specter testifies: “How subtle!”
Epilogue
Summoned from Wako’s ring, he tells Graz’zt and the Rintrah of the execution of Elhenor in the former dwelling of Mortaja Roja: the Guillotine of Contingent Resurrection, a blond boy before a harp, Molydei guards. He perceives the metafictional truth: “The Emperor Graz’zt does not exist, and neither does his fortress. His claw-hand has nerves, but they are not his”, suggesting that an outside force controls the universe. He is silenced and sucked back into the ring.
