Nycols O’Cush is an elderly Celt, godfather of Aodh McDuncan. In Señores de York (Lords of York), when Lagu wakes after being rescued from the gallows by the Celts, Nycols is sitting beside her, with “parchment-like skin and a prominent nose,” calmly chewing some kind of herb.
He turns out to be the old man Lagu was forced to marry when her brother Osporn gave her in marriage. He threatens to take her to Dumfries if Egas had not arrived. His Celtic clan takes part in the alliance against York together with Picts and Vikings.
