Blackbeard of Antiterra is a spectral pirate who died in 1718 and carried on through a pact, flying like the restless dead. His ship is a skeleton; his flag bears the ace of hearts, the card of Oratiol.
His treasure is a scale loaded with dragon eggs: sixty-seven worn, and two pristine ones of tin and copper stolen from an elven princess (Pretty Women thread); these, melted over the mirror of the Cakravartin, hatched the dragon Bronzo, raised by Krisina in Atlantis. His virgin fiancée was the 69th victim of the Pretty Women hired killer and returned as a green-fire witch.
His lieutenant is the Mercain, a four-armed blue giant. His end plays out in his cave-fortress, the Kraken’s grotto, where Casemiro, Magda and Juanje fall in; the eggs are recovered and the scale broken (Libertateurs, Antigua/Tortuga, 1784). Captain Kidd of Time, of another era, is “the Blackbeard of New York”.
