Primary source

The Calendar of Amitlai records: “1375 DR Juicio Final. Minaya (27 años) y Soluna vencen a Takhishis utilizando la Lanza y la Gema de la Creación. Los dioses vuelven atrás en el tiempo hasta el 1348 DR.” (“Minaya (aged 27) and Soluna defeat Takhishis using the Lance and the Gem of Creation. The gods go back in time to 1348 DR.“) It adds that the peerless adventurers walked the path of perils to defeat Tiamat, and that “special alchemy determined the communion of the silver”. The event closes with the restoration of the Cosmos, “a new cycle”.

Background

  • Takhishis is the Calendar’s spelling, a variant of the Dark Queen; in the shared cosmos she is identified with Tiamat — one being under two names.
  • The mist poison. Earlier, Tiamat had sealed the local gods with her “veneno de bruma” (mist poison), the fog she shared with Erebus, Nun of the beginnings; the mountain of ruby remained hers. A thousand years later Minaya and Sol-Luna used the “missing ruby” of that mountain — the Gem of Creation, set as the Lance’s tip — to defeat her.
  • First Circle. The Calendar distinguishes a First and a Second Circle, overlapping cosmogonic cycles; the DR count belongs to the First. The event belongs to the First Circle and to the gesta The Last Judgment.
  • Prelude. The Dance of Knowledge (1368 DR).
  • The 27-year time reversal is a cosmogonic mechanism that reappears in other events.

Conflicting accounts

  • The archive’s timeline places the death of Clarisa in 1375 DR: Laveth plots his divine ascension and kills her. Yet in 1377 DR she leaves prison.
