Ysgard, also called Gladsheim in the old chronicles, is the Norse plane among the outer planes, home of the Aesir and the Vanir and of the einherjar.
| Type | Place (outer plane) |
| Nature | Chaotic but noble; land of martial glory |
| Spanish entry | Ysgard |
Description
- Inhabitants: the Aesir and the Vanir (the Norse pantheon), the einherjar (fallen warriors) and valkyries.
- Form: three main realms: Asgard, Muspelheim and Nidavellir.
- Role in the cycle: the land of martial heroism, used when the gesta (campaign-cycle) needs the space of the fallen warriors.
Link to Minaya
Ysgard appears tied to Minaya, a planar connection still to be detailed. The plane of fallen warriors resonates with her role as heroine of the Last Judgment.
Open questions
- Minaya’s lineage (Coyote, agent of Tiamat, with Zara the drow) may have an arc in Ysgard; this is to be confirmed.
