Background

She belongs to the intermediate generation of the shared cosmos, with Arcoms, Coyote, Minaya, Elisteo and Moran Atias. Arcoms had been Master Librarian in the council of Myth Drannor.

Love for her led Arcoms to join the network of benefactors. Finding her deeply traumatized, he gave her his chance at immortality (a lich’s phylactery). She chose to break her artificial heart, and the demon Kaxathros completed her destruction.

History

  • 1354 DR: born.
  • 1375 DR: at the Last Judgment (First Circle), Laveth plots his divine ascension and kills her.
  • 1377 DR: she leaves prison, the year of the False Kidnapping of Amitlai.

She and Amitlai confronted each other. She figures in the outline of a rescue gesta (campaign-cycle), “Old Father. Arcoms. Daughter. Clarissa. Monster. Abyss. Tiamat. Quest. Rescue the Daughter”, and in a plan to rescue “his daughter Clarisa, or some niece” from the Scrupules of Sealing. Amitlai’s Memoirs tell of the Githyanki attack on Arcoms’s castle after their meeting on Islaire, in which Arcoms lost his tower and left his daughter unprotected.

Namesakes

The timeline has three Clarisas: (I) an acquaintance of Coyote, 1348 DR; (II) mother of Elisteo with Minaya, 1349 DR, on the plane of the elves; (III) this one. The events of 1375 and 1377 DR belong to (III).

Open questions

  • How her 1375 DR death fits with leaving prison in 1377 DR (resurrection, non-final death, or namesake).
  • The circumstances of her confrontation with Amitlai.
  • The story of “the pufferfish” linked to her was never written down.
