The Dance of Knowledge is an event of 1368 DR (Marpenoth 6, October) in which Minaya learned her past and her parents’, while Coyote was sacrificed by Kaxathros and his soul trapped in a gem given as tribute to Graz’zt.

Description
The Calendar of Amitlai places it in “autumn/fall of leaves” and says Graz’zt examines the gem “pero no sabe todavía hacer con sus secretos duales” (“but does not yet know what to do with its dual secrets”).
- Minaya learns she is the daughter of Coyote, an agent of Tiamat, and Zara the drow, conceived in 1348 DR.
- The gem’s “dual secrets” tie it to the Dual Magic stolen by Pablo. It is not the Gem of Creation, which comes from Tiamat’s Ruby Mount.
Role
It is the prelude to the Last Judgment of 1375 DR, when Minaya, aged 27 and owning her hybrid origin, and Sol-Luna defeated Tiamat with the Lance and the Gem of Creation. Coyote is a link in the cross-gesta Chain of Reincarnation.
Open questions
- What Graz’zt later does with the gem, and how it relates to the Gem of Creation.
- Whether the Dance is a recurring ritual.
