The Second Egg is the fruit of the Weapon Tree carried by Los Condenados (“the Condemned”) to the Well of Light in Ardis Vala, where its detonation opened a planar breach through which Belial escaped. It is the twin of the bomb behind the ashes of Ritornello.

Description
A living, dense, almost radioactive mass, hard to hide even in a magic bag. The first egg, fifteen years earlier, killed four to six thousand. An innkeeper of the other chronicle had stated the rule: donde hay un huevo siempre hay dos (“where there is one egg there are always two”).
History
- The fruit. In the Sunken Citadel, over the earlier tree’s remains, a new plant-artificial structure linked to Bellaca had grown. Before its stump Kira offered herself: a companion beheaded her and her blood watered the roots. The tree yielded the two dark weapons and the fruit. Dieter set out the mission: the world is a prison, the Pope its jailer, and the Well of Light the point where the weapon must enter.
- The pledge. The company gave the egg as a pledge to the lunar naga in exchange for the Sortian eyes that opened the way. Its recovery was Nerub Null’s price for trust; it returned at the court of Lady Deino, with the plan and the two keys.
- Detonation. While the sand of Ardis Vala consumed the whole company the egg reached the Well. The Well burst and the Midnight Circuit opened a planar path toward a frozen city or a strange world. Belial, who had built the machine since the pact, escaped through the breach.
Conflicting accounts
- In the tradition of the other chronicle’s egg, Psalor Ki wanted to hatch it, not detonate it: the egg that will birth not only frogs, but the first being and the last. The Condemned’s egg detonated.
