History
He entered the profaned church of Helix by its secret door, behind the newly resurrected Mortan, to act for Belial, who could not manifest without alerting this world’s jailer. He hailed the murder of the Abbot and proposed making the consecrated church the center of a new cult.
In Helix he handed out black apples that healed and taught the liturgy of blood (power belongs to whoever accepts its price). He officiated the Red Mass that subdued the congregation, toppled the feudal lord’s son, bent the surviving counselor, and, like the Piper of Hamelin, led the town toward the falls on a pilgrimage that was slaughter by installments. He revealed the true plan: the world is a prison, the Pope its jailer, and the Well of Light the point where the weapon, the fruit of the tree, must enter.
Nerub Null revealed that the Priscians sent Dieter as emissary to the valley settlements, Helix included, in their own operation against the Pope. In Ardis Vala he had been unmasked before the Seekers as a draconic creature of ancient blood, once an emissary of Tiamat, summoned by the Priscians. All these identities were true, letting him join every enemy of the same light (Priscians, Lady Deino, the Lunar Naga, Los Condenados) and stitch them into one coalition.
When Los Condenados, cornered by the Pope’s offer of redemption through Mortan’s mouth, invoked their lord, Dieter shed his form: a winged, horned devil over two meters tall, with claws and a serpentine tail. He was Belial’s avatar, vehicle and channel. When the egg reached the Well of Light he said «Está hecho» (“It is done”), then turned fire on allies, enemies and the flock of Helix alike.
