Dream Pacts are the Faustian contracts offered to each member of the 1966 descent beneath the Malvinas Islands inside the shared dream of Carcosa. Each sleeper faced a scene tailored to their desire or fear, ending in a contract to sign.

Mechanism
The blue stone, awakened by the Esoteric Order of Dagon at the foot of the southern lighthouse (Claromecó Lighthouse), cast the companions into a single dream. Beyond lay the land of the two suns and a negotiating table: the yellow city does not conquer by force but seduces each sleeper alone, unseen by the others. Whoever signs is bound; whoever refuses pays for refusing. Each scene crossed costs sanity, even for those who return victorious.
The five signatures
- Antonio, the broken sailor and the group’s link to the dream sphere, relived the sinking of his ship: a green-eyed siren of the Deep Ones, his old crewmates with empty eyes, a flare gun in his hand. He chose to face it and recovered some lost sanity; the captain at last agreed to go down with his ship.
- Malena, the biologist, found an underwater laboratory where her father, Walter, worked alive among microscopes. Under the lens multiplied double-tailed parasites she recognized as the Mi-Go, the fungi from space, mixed with the seed of the hybrids. On the table lay a syringe of oil-thick liquid: inject herself and be saved, or spend the dose on her father. She lost part of her sanity there.
- Dulce, the axe-wielding German and messenger of the book that must not be read, was taken to the stage of the King in Yellow, the place of masks. She was offered a contract to act in the company and painted a canvas of her companions in the bioluminescent costumes of the yellow court. She woke in the King’s psychosis, seeing faces as masks and screaming for people to take them off.
- Irene, the Polish researcher back from the north, was shown a memory she is unsure is hers: the Wright-Patterson military base in Ohio, where a Doctor Ring showed her things possibly linked to the stone, and a paper to sign. The choice was to sign with Majestic — split between those who want to destroy what should not exist and those who want to use it at any cost — or to have fled under Harrington’s warning. What she chose only she knows.
- Rómulo, the Basque footballer, was offered the future: a dark office dated 1975, almost a decade ahead, with Federal Police plaques on the wall — the office of the sorcerer López Rega. Behind the desk, a sorcerer-commissioner of the Triple A, recognizable because his shadow does not match his body, handed him a list of his companions’ names: write them down and save them and himself. Rómulo came out knowing a new spell, “Ashes and diamonds”, which returns to ash those raised from their ashes.
Deferred consequences
Each signature bound its sleeper to a different power — Majestic, the court of the King in Yellow, the Triple A, what sleeps at the bottom of the sea, or what Walter’s laboratory hides — as a latent debt the other side collects when it chooses. None of the five knew, on waking, the full reach of what they accepted. Under the islands sleeps Cthulhu, through whose reverse side the pacts open.
