The Beacon (Faro Brillante, “Shining Lighthouse”; also the Crystal Castle) is the starship of the Rudishva that crashed in the world of Archontos about 3,000 years ago, origin of the whole Rudishva line in the world of Ardis Vala.

History
The ship “came from the stars and was here for a thousand years”. The impact scattered technology and survivors across the region. The surviving Rudishva lived as an exiled group for a millennium, until one of them, Master Malakita, founded the Order of the Knights of the Scar of the Sun in 1123 AEP with recovered technology.
Remains
Its remains are spread through the underground complex:
- L05, Obsidian Gates: the largest concentration of intact Rudishva devices.
- L06, Troll Lifts: lifts still working, operated by the Varumani, descendants of the Rudishva’s servants.
- Beacon Chamber: an energy beacon and Rudishva teleporters to the Obsidian Gates and the Floor of the Great Abyss; probably the surviving energy core of the ship.
- L07: secondary modifications in some sectors.
“Shining Lighthouse” and “Crystal Castle” name the ship or its energy core; the Crystal Castle is probably its residual form or main seat underground. Rudishva gear has been recovered there, such as Malakita’s armor with grenades, and wands.
Weapons module and RAJ-750
The Beacon’s weapons module held the artificial intelligence RAJ-750, source of the egg bomb that the companions delivered to the trolls of the Court of the Thegn. The trolls activated it and razed Ritornello fifteen years before the present: the Matter of the Ashes, in which 4,000 people vanished.
Open questions
- The exact location of the Crystal Castle (probably the Beacon Chamber or the Obsidian Gates).
- Whether the egg is the same cosmological object as the “cosmic egg” or “true Atlantean secret” discussed elsewhere, and as the egg of the Tarrasque in Uchronic Paris, vehicle of Seth. The cross-gesta hypothesis is open.
