The angel of the hammer and the chisel is a one-winged angel who appeared when Lucio joined the hammer and chisel left by the dabus at the Arch of the Not Yet. The tools form one unit under a law of balance: what the angel gives, something claims.

History
It appeared in the surgery room of the dead Temple of Ashtar of the Ice, house of Ashtar, and intervened three times:
- It restored Adriel from a total draining, in an inn in Ungarn; the tools turned heavy and cold.
- It brought back Lem, dead in the snow: «Está hecho. Y ahora hay que pagar el precio» (“It is done. And now the price must be paid”). Lem returned sturdier, with his memory and another form.
- It carried the whole company out of the Mists.
Each intervention wakes a counterpart. When Lirio reappeared holding Eliza’s head, a fiery power came to claim him (“this one is mine”) and the angel held it back; Dandy returned to the temple with a tower of fire behind him. The angel wept at the price.
Its last act was a wish: that the company appear near a safe place where no demon could follow or condemn them for a year and a day. The place was Nothenvell; the term is running.
The tools
Lucio holds them. Dandy’s aunt wanted them for two daggers, the vampires of Ungarn as a guarantee, the forces of the Ice for unstated reasons.
