Description

The Athar see the divine realms as powers, not gods; their most discreet core holds that a force needing no temples exists above them all. Those who name it Ashtar say it left something from the ashes; others call naming it the very error they fled, since in other turns of the cosmos the one god cost too much. Ashtar is depicted as a slow column of ash in the place of the last of a row of overturned thrones, nearly taking shape, above a pair of open hands with light in their palms.

Worship

At least one temple existed: the Temple of Ashtar of the Ice, founded a year after the refounding of Sogol and dead for a century, with a house of healers, a garden and surgery of perpetual light.

Lucio of the Hive, “of the hands”, is a chosen one who did not choose: the sacred kissed him once as a host, and no other deity can heal him. When he defended the threshold of the dead temple, the house answered his prayer. On the first day in Sogol, Uken and the planorcs spoke the name.
