Valdemora is a palisaded farming village of about 400 inhabitants in Barrado Balacán (formerly Ardisvala), home of Decio Balmora, his wife Lali and the Guard of Woodsmen he leads. After the fall of Ritornello it became a bastion of survivors and refugees.

History
When Ritornello fell, fifteen years before (“the business of the ashes”), the imperial roads broke and the great cities emptied. Valdemora took in farmers, refugees and former imperials with no city left, and became the most visible town after the fall. Its Guard of Woodsmen holds off the undead, invasive beasts and hostile incursions; in war it goes wherever needed.
Description
It lies in the valley of the river descending from the Great Cascade. It is home to the noble Mirela Valka, whose children Luminita and Dracos are lost. The Sunless Citadel, former Balmora seat, and the inn of Estellara are nearby.
In the gesta
After the Hiatus, it opens the new arc of the Ardis Vala gesta: the Seekers escort Decio home, find a district in mourning under Carad de Teyber, and are sent to the valley caves, where Lali waits corrupted.
