Carad de Teyber, called Carad the Accursed, is the current lord of the land around Valdemora and the Sunless Citadel in Barrado Balacán (formerly Ardisvala), in the gesta of Ardis Vala.

He betrayed his former companion Decio Balmora after the fall of Ritornello fifteen years ago and filled the power vacuum. His great cats earned him the name Lord of Panthers. His rule is corrupt (more deeply so, the Seekers of Ardis Vala suspect), and neighbors avoid naming him. The local noble Mirela Valka tolerates him under duress; Decio’s wife, Lali, was lost under his regime; Estellara also lies in his shadow. Known through Decio’s story after the Hiatus, he has not appeared in person.
