Description
Hooded and stooped over his staff, face half hidden, with lit charms on his traveler’s clothes. He follows the Athar doctrine, which sees the gods as frauds. It is said he once ended an argument by bursting a head. He has spoken in parody of a god: «El universo me pertenece desde antes de que ustedes, dioses, nacieran siquiera a la existencia» (“The universe has belonged to me since before you gods were even born into existence”).
History
He taught the tiefling Dandy to read doors, and spoke to Lucio of inheritances. He waited for the group beyond the Arch of the Not Yet, where a portal closed for a hundred years had just opened. He named the Temple of Ashtar of the Ice, the black obsidian key and the pending redemption, but could not go with them because of an ancient pact with the place that gave the obsidian.
He was next seen outside Sogol in the snow, with a sled and odd-headed dogs, beside the mound from which a rusted Templar had just emerged. He said his people are very ancient planar walkers who knew the outer lands before they were outer to anyone, and got lost in them. He offered work, refuge and a voice to anyone interested in that heritage. His two interests: proving the falsity of the gods, for which he needs a closer link with “one who was cast out” and with forces hostile to the Athar; and the obsidian, since the arms trade pays.
In Nothenvell he proved to be the contact between a thane of arms and the lads of the Alley. He named Caloria (a kingdom, almost an archipelago, of islands of flame and heat) and explained that the supply line was breached, old dwarven fortresses might be occupied and forces of fire and ice were taking position. He hired the company to escort a caravan of thirty sleds on the Road of Mertylmane, providing cold-weather clothing, better weapons and sled lessons, and told them who the general on the other side, Ajani, is and to whom she is related.
