Description
Country-sized gears mesh together, with rectilinear architecture built on their faces; at the center is the gap of a missing piece. Mechanus guards the mechanism that sustains reality.
History
The theft of the Gear set off the central causal chain of the shared cosmos: without the Gear there is no Artifact, and without the Artifact there is no Contest. Sol-Luna died in the attack on Mechanus or near it.
The Amulet of the Planes
Primus, the supreme machine-god of Mechanus, planned to take the Modrons out of their cyclical March to search for the Amulet of the Planes, but the Rex (Néorex / Graz’zt) killed him first. The March of the Modrons continued by inertia. The Maimed gathered information in the same arc.
