Description
- They bear the mark of treachery: a six-fingered hand and foot, the signature of Graz’zt, who corrupts them and commissions the work.
- They work enclosed in a zone devastated by an invasion from the Abyss, the “Bermuda Triangle of Mechanus”: a perimeter of chaos ships where three mediators stand guard but cannot enter.
- The work has a cosmic deadline of 180 years, summed up as “esto se termina en Milán, esa noche” (“this ends in Milan, that night”).
- Around them wait the cocoons in which the builders sleep through those centuries.
Opposition
Ananta, an amnesiac axiomite artificer, opposes their corruption. He wants to reconstitute Primus, the source of Mechanus’s order, and restore that order.
