Egas is a cleric of Dian Cecht (a Celtic, non-Christian deity) and a healer with supernatural tactile power, popularly known as “Saint Egas, the one who heals with her hands”. She is a member of The Company of David.
After the destruction of Monkchester she emerges as its spiritual leader, in silent rivalry with Dolores over the religious direction of the town (pagan versus Christian). Compassionate and protective, she rescues and heals Lagu, a lynched witch, tends the wounded and keeps an unshakable faith. She was placed under a spell by Lubina but was saved by celestial light.
