Chantal is a Chicana tracker of the New World, a woman of the thicket and the frontier, skilled in survival and in following a trail. The archive portrays her: “Chantal, the Chicana, looks in the mirror and sees herself cadaverous. She had been shot by Kendal.”
She is a companion of the group that descends into Iron Mountain and goes with it through every phase of the gesta (campaign-cycle): the search for Francis Le Pen, the underground incursions, the fight against Rachel Betta and the exploration of the Crystal Tower.
Chantal and Sasha are distinct figures: both are trackers of the thicket, but separate.
