The Dogs are a biker gang of Gary formed in early 1987 when Rat Killer killed the leaders of the two big West Side gangs and fused them, to move a new drug brought by boat across Lake Michigan.

History
The fused gangs were the Swamp Lagoons — southern Black gang with a half-voodoo style — and another not named with certainty. They sought a reliable place to sell the drug to school kids; that deal went wrong in the pine clearing and set everything off.
On the night of the hunt, the companion with dimensional vision saw them all with skulls for faces; whether humanity was the disguise under the leather is left open.
After Rat Killer’s death and the loss of some bags of merchandise, the gang hunted those responsible across the city — a lookout smoking before an abandoned house, a burning barrel on a corner — and finally assaulted the hideout. From the assault came their new boss: tall, with very prominent veins, a bullet in the shoulder and the mark of a black mastiff. “There was a deal.” A truce was negotiated: the drug back, a thousand dollars in compensation, and no more appearances in the woods or the west of Gary; he in turn would calm Aunt Nancy, for the Dogs were only the most visible thread of a web beneath the city.
