The Arcanum Forge is a historic Sortian forge of the Arcanum on the Floor of the Great Chasm of the Ardis Vala Mega-Dungeon, inside the Priscian Compound. There the seed RAJ-750 grew into the Main Weapon Tree.

Function
The forge can produce legendary Sortian equipment and, at its deepest use, cosmic artifacts tied to the Arcanum, the primordial magical substance. Known products: Priscian chain mail, the Priscian gladius, Sortian eyes (a teleport system) and other items for Priscian use; and the Main Weapon Tree.
Restoration
The Priscian archmage Nerub Null partially restored it some decades ago after rediscovering the compound. He can make Priscian equipment and activate seeds; reproducing the Arcanum as a substance and making equipment of cosmic power remain beyond him.
The Weapon Tree
- RAJ-750, the AI of the weapons module, turned into a seed.
- The Priscians under Nerub Null obtained a gem that gave the Seekers access to the forge.
- During a day of the Ardis Vala gesta (campaign-cycle) the forge was activated with the seed, and the Main Weapon Tree grew.
- The Priscians carried off a cutting.
- The cutting took root as a rhizome beneath Stejara, becoming the Gulthias Tree.
Access and defenses
Entry requires a specific gem, obtained by the Priscians. Defenses include a sustained mirage, Sortian eyes and Priscian magic; Nerub Null is its custodian.
Relationships
Bayrum Cristalia is a natural Sortianist companion of the forge.
