The Three Witches (Macbeth) are the dwellers of the Witch Plane, a coven-dimension of the Inferno where the bombing party got lost before entering beneath the cathedral of the Temple and Place of the Just on the Inferno’s first level. They are modeled on the weird sisters of Shakespeare’s Macbeth: three, in a circle, with rhythmic, prophetic speech.

The chant to Sven

When Sven, the blood-axed barbarian of the Lost Ones, entered the plane with the bombing party, they chanted to him:

“Sven, no pierdas el tren, tren, tren” (“Sven, don’t miss the train, train, train”)

They wanted him to destroy everything with his companions: turn his rage on his own band, finish the bombing and blow up the cathedral, where the group was under attack above. The temptation nearly took hold; Ärsvan stopped it, and Ariadna fell back with her scythe when he did.
