Spanish entry Dragón Psicopompo

Nature

  • Its functions are guide of souls, magistrate of the afterlife and keeper of the flow of souls, to balance the universe. In uchronic Egyptian mythology it devours or consumes souls and serves as judge.
  • It is not intrinsically evil; it performs a neutral balancing function. Its demand that History not be altered collides head-on with the mission of the Time Bandits.

Encounter

  • It appears in the Valley of the Yellow Serpent in response to the group’s rebellion against temporal destiny.
  • Its sentence: accept the role of Guardians in the War (letting the souls of World War I go where they should), or be considered in rebellion against Death.
  • Its powers include breath of devouring locusts, electrical discharges, an aura of fear and an aura of repulsion.
  • Gravely damaged in combat, it withdraws with the warning “The souls of the next war are being counted.” It leaves a floating amber butterfly as a sign of a possible “review” of the case.
