City of Dis is an infernal city about 100 miles across, comparable to Uchronic Buenos Aires. It lies between Circles 4 and 6 of Dante’s Hell, as the border between Upper and Lower Hell. Its infernal name is Coloscan.
It has red towers, bridges between turrets and moats visible below. Four areas, each with its banner, are known:
- the Key (portals, invasions);
- the Salamander (incinerators, serpent world);
- the Library of the Heresiarchs (blasphemous, heretical-magical texts);
- the Torch / Forges (mechanical golems, cannons).
The city is ruled by Hecate, called “Cacahuate”, who dethroned Plutus. The group enters through an opening of skeletal giants and is received by a delegation offering lodging. They choose the Library.
