Uroboros is the serpent that bites its tail, a symbol of infinite cycle, regeneration and eternal return. It enters the final reflection (the closing epilogue) of the Descent in the CDI chronicle.

Resonances in the ATEM
- Circle of the Serpent: an equivalent geometric-mystical figure; a parallel ritual figure in which the serpent traces the cycle.
- Ouroboros of the Castle of the Prism: the architectural manifestation of the same symbol. The Castle of the Prism contains its own Ouroboros and is the probable destination of the group.
Meaning in the Descent
It suggests that:
- The infernal journey has no true end; there is always a further “below”.
- The group may restart the cycle in a new form.
- Redemption is not permanent escape but cyclical transformation.
The Descent may continue (a new hell, new form, new saga), or the “exit” from the current hell is the entrance to a new one. It echoes the Cakravartin, the wheel that turns without cease. The cycle threatens to restart at the infernal fortress of Dis.
