Description

The first Ge’ez writing names GRDT ruler, “he who demands”, bearing a staff for collecting tribute. Mani ranks Axum among four world empires, with Rome, Persia and Sileos (possibly China).

Altitude makes a triple kingdom: the Red Sea coast (Adulis, where Alexandrian merchants traded; access via Broken Reach), the stormy Plateau of Aue, and the prismatic highlands of Eritrea and Tigray. Prisoners died before the ivory throne of black basalt. Peoples: Tsalim (black), Qayh (red). Legend puts the Queen of Sheba’s birth nearby.

History

Under Aurelian (270–275) Axumite envoys, possibly defeated allies of Zenobia of Palmyra, were in Rome. An associate of Zabdas reportedly passed occult knowledge to Axum’s king.

Azzagrat, the Abyss’s Triple Kingdom, may mirror Axum. See also Antiterra (A.D.A. axis).
