Mexico is a poor, agricultural country south of the United States in the archive’s cycle, a node of the zodiacal platforms and the site of a lost temple where evil eggs will hatch.

Geography

Mexico has desert and cactus, central lakes, the Gulf of Mexico to the east (visible from the Chihuahuan Desert) and the Pacific to the west. Its fields “are feeding a good part of Mexico”, and through the northern towns circulate “jade, maize and illegals”. It is called “this cursed Mexico”, where one “crashes against the walls”.

Travel

  • From Paris it takes more than a week, even by the zodiacal platforms; one platform is in Mexico.
  • To enter Arizona one must first pass through New Mexico.
  • Some companies touched Baton Rouge before “the whole Mexico story”.
  • Magical travel itineraries avoid Mexico “for reasons”.

The border

The border with the United States is a bridge. “The Americans killed people to keep this border” and impose their rules on those who cross; some travelers need help to cross. In Texas the border is “a mess you can’t imagine”.

The temple above the lakes

Above the central lakes stands a temple associated with Aztecs and Toltecs (“the Aztecs came earlier; the Toltecs, in any case”), whose exact location is unknown. Evil eggs will hatch there; the creatures come from there, with consequences for the whole world.

History

  • In 1838 the first Deep Ones fought explorers in Mexico.
  • One must go to Mexico “100 years ago”, to 14 April 1887.
  • Auro earned his coyote nickname here “fighting against the creatures”.

Conflicting accounts

  • One interlude says Mexico “seems to be part of the United States of the Americas”; other accounts treat it as a separate country. Some assign that statement to Terra’s mirror world, not Antiterra.
  • Cuba appears among “the states” to avoid, with Arizona, Mexico, Nebraska and Nevada; whether this is Antiterra’s geography or a copying error is unsettled.

Open questions

  • Where is the temple, and are the creatures in the eggs those Auro fought?
  • What the walls of “cursed Mexico” and the magical reasons to avoid it are is not recorded.
