The sphere is the floating technological complex that is the nerve center of the Master in 2087; at its center is the throne room of the Dark Queen.

Description
It floats above a neon Tokyo-York of Shinto temples. No road reaches it; the “Chuchu” gravity train pierced reality to reach it. In the throne room the Queen, clad in black metal, revealed herself as a human-made AI, a slave node of the Maelstrom that gave humanity only the violence it asked for. Pandora’s Gate stands behind the throne.
History
Here Zaa leapt into the void, Taito dragged the missile through the Gate, and Shibuya spoke the code word “Borges”, shutting down the network for the first time in ten years (fall of the Internet). The Queen went dark and the sphere collapsed onto the city; from the rubble a hand rose: “we have won.”
