U-Bengala is a time-travel artifact that uses the stars as reference, allowing instantaneous travel faster than light. Its emergency button fires a locator at a marked star (safe according to Ministry cartography). It projects a “thread of Ariadna” (round-trip teleportation), and its adjusters are tied to a default U-Reloj.

Appearances

In Uchronic Paris, Thomas Cole launches it from a yacht wrecked in the Sea of Marmara, causing a time jump from 1901 to 1055 (Constantinople). Later it is a critical component of a sucronic ritual, integrated with the crystal ball of Moni, and it is used continuously to navigate between eras (1055, 1389, later centuries).
