Rant and Rael, the twins of the source, are a brother and sister in Never 9-11 who tracked the ambrosia to its source. Rant was already dead: he was a psychic manifestation sustained by his sister Rael, and both ended fused into the moon worm Blanqui.

History
Arrival
They entered by disintegrating a wall: two people in their twenties, brother and sister with the same face, in fuchsia clothes and bracelets, very vintage. Their message: we have come for the source of what we need; you got here first, but that doesn’t mean you won’t share. They drank ambrosia given to them at the Powerhouse as prizes for fights in the Circus Maximus, and traced the spring when they wanted to know where it came from (Ambrosia Delivery). Without the dose they die. Rael danced, dodging blows by ear; Rant burst eardrums with a shout. Once stabilized with a sedative they told everything: they had robbed a bank, and Saturnalia Roman had told them, “why are you so crazy and rob banks? Go to the source.”
Rant’s death
On a golf course bought in two hours, the man from Mars Inc. revealed: “You mean the late Rant? He died a week ago. In Buenos Aires.” He had been seen two days earlier. Both worked at a bank in Buenos Aires; Armagedón killed Rant with a kick. Rael, with illusion powers sustained by the drug, re-manifested him. The sedative given to save her kept her brother standing; when the dose stopped, he was gone.
The last favor
Rael returned once, with the keys of the apartment where she had lived two weeks and different hair: “My brother didn’t leave.” The ambrosia holds Rant’s essence and conflicting feelings — Daedalus had warned that the substance has feelings, life, and is amniotic — and she knew he was trapped and suffering. She asked to be taken where his consciousness remained, to say goodbye, and for a suit adapted to him. She warned that another way had been offered to her (Saturnalia offered her a passage) and that some organizations sell passages: “If I have to go to the Moon to get my brother back, I will.” Akasha calmed her telepathically but could not read her mind; meanwhile she was seen holding hands with nothing.
The Moon
Through an illusion she got inside the falling module with her brother, and both merged with the cargo, the ambrosia. Inside, a disco-ball-like cluster of energy began to shine and spin, absorbing them into its core, and the broken module sank slowly to the floor of the crater on the Moon, beside a tattered American flag. The worm emerged from that cluster. They were never separated again.
Conflicting accounts
- This story and that of Rave and Grant are the same: the same Armagedón, kick, bank, Buenos Aires, sister sustaining a dead brother, ascent, crater and fusion; only the names change.
- The archive states elsewhere that Grant is not Rant and they must not be confused.
Open questions
- Is Rael the same person as Rave?
