History
A bank robbery went wrong — in Buenos Aires according to most accounts, in Japan according to one — and Armagedón appeared on the side of the law, or what passes for it on Earth-212. He killed Grant, a young man who had robbed the bank while drugged, with one kick. “He broke my head,” said the woman who mourned him. “He died in a light, he died in the bank.”
He is a public figure in a world that made its public figures into a police, a league and a cult, calls those who uphold order guardians and saviors, and has justified everything done in its name for thirty years by the attack that never happened. From the grief he left behind came, by long roads, the worm that is eating the Moon.
