The Venerables are a council of the leaders of the orders and clubs of Byzantium, convened by Theodora (the Black Queen) after the death of Zoe.

Description
- Each Venerable received a colored book from Olaus: green, blue, red or white.
- They act as judges and witnesses in the Funeral Games and as a consultative political body.
- They were present at the wake of Zoe and at the Funeral Games.
- The council parallels the historical Byzantine Senate.
