The Hive (La Colmena) is the underworld district of Sogol, one of the six mirror districts the refounded city copied, and corrected in its own way, from old Sigil. It is the home alley of the four companions of the living gesta.

Description
Sooty brick tenements climb a horizon that curves upward on both sides; a barred asylum with warm windows, a soup line, children playing under a lamp; luminous rebuses floating above the alley.
- Communal soup and asylums.
- The Gatehouse, with warm gates, where the Shadow Cabal (Cábala Sombría) dispenses the one truth given free: the cosmos has no meaning, and one must still eat hot.
- Alleys where people are born, gamble, learn to read the dabus’ rebuses, and vanish when the Harmonium patrols.
- A shop for assembling, repairing and refurbishing modrons (a discreet crossing with Mecanus and the planes above).
- Underground theaters, where once an unnamed actor gathered thirty-two souls.
The four companions
From one alley (that of Leya’s soup, of the foundations of an old temple that once mattered, of the Arch of the Not Yet, its newly opened portal) came Adriel, Dandy, Lucio and Lem. They grew up together for twelve years, learning the one law the district teaches: better together than apart. Barbarella is a celebrated neighbor of the alley.
