The Infernal Egg (Egg of the Unborn Being, Harvested Creature) is a demonic artifact found on the first incursion into the Omniporal Labyrinth, possibly the egg of an infraplanar creature, alive and glowing with violet flames.

Description
Its function is unknown; alchemy detects it as alive. An electric protection wounds whoever strikes it, as Ärsvan learned. Inscriptions guard against “the serpent’s venom”; decoded, they include: “a Pillar of the world has fallen… heads have fallen into the water… it is the house of Amun the hidden… salt, serpent’s venom… let them make ready for battle”. Its plate shows a cutaway tower: stacked Gothic arcades, a staircase that never arrives, two small red figures, and a hooded face watching from below.
History
Chalk-marked and left on the first incursion, it was later kept in the Temple and, after the journey to Tyre, in the vaults of Ur, under permanent guard, since it “will be born at some point for good” and must not reach enemy hands.
By psychometry, Michelle saw a hooded figure, presumably a “dragon of the Abyss”, give the egg to the serpent, whispering: “harvest this creature of good as if it were of evil”.
It evokes Gnostic texts and the Dead Sea Scrolls, and the Descent’s themes (Hell, trapped divine sparks). It may be linked to the Minotaur and to the “Star that fell” of the first assault on the Temple.
Open questions
- Whether the creature inside is a seed of good or of evil.
- Whether it is the egg laid by the serpent-Asmodeus in the Mountains of the Moon, holding GRDT’s memories sealed by Elaina; the two are not merged.
