Quamar, the Mountains of the Moon, is the source of the Nile in the geography of the Egyptian Revolt: mountains of resplendent whiteness where the silvery stars are forged, along with the rebels’ weapons.

Name and forge
The name preserves the Arabic word for the moon (qamar) and Ptolemy’s legendary geography, the Lunae Montes from which the ancients made the river rise. At Quamar the silver of the sky and the silver of the blade come from the same anvil. Those who come down armed from Quamar are said to be as strong as the river’s torrents, prepared by the rains of Abyssinia (1,250 kilometers, ever changing).
End of Antiterra corpus
The mountains are also the nest of an egg laid by the serpent-Asmodeus, in which Elaina encapsulated the memories of GRDT. It is one way Graz’zt recovers his memory; the egg is sought by un negro escalador (“a black climber”). It is among the versions of GRDT’s awakening, alongside the ruby of memory of Abyssinia and Lake Victoria.
