The neo-Gothic church of Santa Felicitas, with its broken-winged angel, was built in her memory; her presence never left it. A Guerrero, of the blood of Beatriz, she married into the Álzaga, the family of Ezequiel Álzaga of the Hermetic Order (1922).

When the Blind take Beatriz, Felicitas appears to an investigator in Barracas, marks a woman’s arm with Beatriz’s mark, and threatens to mark others unless Beatriz returns safe. Her riddle «a pesar de su esfuerzo, falta un huevo para la docena» (“despite the effort, one egg is missing from the dozen”) means Beatriz is in Once, where Norberto Buscaglia holds her. Where she appears, walls bleed, blood freezes and dead birds fall.

Her reliquary (a lock of hair, the seal “FG”) protects against blades and bullets, must be recharged by a rite in her church, and exacts a price.
