Norberto Buscaglia, “the one-eyed man”, is the head of the Holy Sect of the Blind in the Cthulhu Buenos Aires gesta of 1922. With one seeing eye among the eyeless, he can read and pass for an ordinary man; by day he sells ballenitas (whalebone stays) on a railway.

His blind sister Alicia posed as a desperate old woman, entered the convent of Santa Catalina de Siena as a novice, drugged the nuns and opened the door for the abduction. Buscaglia took Beatriz from the convent and kept her at the La Madrileña boarding house in Once as “Rosaura, the fiancée of the painter Canegato”, holding her in delirium with Black Lotus and staging a sham wedding.

He carries the sleep drug, a German copy of the Unaussprechlichen Kulten and an enchanted whistle that summons icy Byakhee from the sky. He does not fight head-on: he uses the chaos he unleashes to slip underground with his hostage.
