Description

The Regulators formed from the collapse of the Deep Ones at the end of 1889; his bandmates included El Fabuloso and Helter. Of the six, Cornelio alone had his own uniform and a uniformed mind. Nazimar contracts nazi and marcador (“marker”). He signed with a needle on skin.

History

When the band dealt with the Antiterran Commerce Guild of the Mercane, blue horned giants trading between planes, Cornelio summoned the first Mercane and guaranteed the contract. He tattooed «001» in red ink on its forearm, the first entry in the band’s books, marking it the way Jews had been marked: account and stigma at once.

The Mercane let itself be tattooed, then paid him back, in a way that is unclear. Soon after, a French assassin killed Cornelio cleanly. He was already dead when El Fabuloso drank from the Cup atop the Tower at the tournament (1890 A.D.A.); the exact date is not fixed.

Events of Antiterra names four Parisian conspirators who fought the Baatezu rule of Lord Gaul to revive the French republic: Jacques El Destripateur, Jean du Arc Gannibale, Matilde “tout de tué” and Jean Paul Malmonde. “One killed the nazimar of the Regulators.” Years later the killer became Guardian of Libra in Alexandria and died by a sword thrust from Billy Jean (Juan Jerez, in a later time-jump), who became Guardian in turn.

Conflicting accounts

  • The assassin was possibly linked to Lord Gaul.
  • The killer came from the republican conspirators, enemies of the Viceroy rather than his agents.
